Your swimming pool pump is what keeps your water moving and circulating, without your pool pump your water would turn green. A pool pump is a device that works with your filter to maintain your pools crystal clear look. Your swimming pool pump pulls water from the pool and circulates it through the filtration system, which allows it to be cleaned of bacteria, dirt and debris. Pumps come standard in single speed as well as variable speeds, energy efficient.

Every pump has a capacity that lets you know how much water it can circulate. When buying a pump it is important to look at its circulation ability and see how much it can pump either by the minute or by the hour. A good basic rule of thumb is to ensure that the pump can circulate your pools entire water volume in around 8 hours (three times a day). It is important also to check the energy efficiency of the pump as well as the warranty stipulations to ensure you get the optimum power for your money.
